How we contact organisations on LinkedIn

From time to time we write to a senior person at an organisation doing good, when something public gives us a reason to, such as a new appointment, a funding award or a job advert for a designer.

What we use. Your name, job title, organisation and public LinkedIn profile address, and the public page where we read the news, such as your organisation's website or a sector publication. We don't scrape LinkedIn and we don't buy contact lists.

Why we can. We rely on legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR. Our interest is introducing our design services to organisations they may be relevant to. We have weighed that against your interests, which is why we send one short connection note from Matt Laakvand's own profile and never follow up.

How long we keep it. Your details are held only until the note is sent, usually within a few days. After that we keep your organisation's name or registration number and the date we wrote, so that nobody there hears from us a second time.

Your choices. You can ignore the note and you won't hear from us again. You can object, or ask what we hold about you, by emailing info@luminousindustries.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
